1.
What makes your classes different from other acting programs?
Lead by professionals working actively in feature film and on the stage. We bring real world experience, relationships and unmatched authenticity. We’re less about rigid training and more about cultivating commitment and courage to explore deeply and take creative risks, and have fun while doing so. At In The Pines, we also offer the opportunity to be apart of our ongoing feature film projects.
2.
What is In The Pines Studio?
In The Pines Studio is a creative space for drama classes, community events, and artistic collaboration. It’s part performance lab, part gathering space, and entirely dedicated to exploring storytelling in all its forms.
3.
Who are the drama classes for?
Our classes welcome all experience levels - from complete beginners to seasoned performers - with options for kids, teens, and adults. The focus is on play, discovery, and truth in the moment.
4.
Do I need prior acting experience?
Not at all. Many of our students step into a drama class for the very first time here. The only requirement is curiosity and a willingness to participate.
5.
Why do some people call you Ashley, and others call you Winter?
Great question! I was born Ashley Williams, and that’s the name I use in everyday life and with my wonderful local community here at the studio. When I perform on screen or the stage however, I go by Winter Williams - my professional stage name. This helps me create a unique identity in the film world and avoid confusion with another actress who shares a similar name. So whether you hear “Ashley” or “Winter,” it’s still me - the same person, passionate about acting and storytelling. Feel free to call me whichever feels most comfortable for you! In drama class though I will refer to myself as Ms. Ashley.
6.
Where is the studio located?
We’re in a restored Cleary building, on a private residential property. It started life as a workshop - now transformed into a cozy, inspiring environment filled with vintage touches. Directions will be sent upon registration but you can also find them on our CONTACT tab at the footer of our site.
7.
Can I rent the studio for my own event or project?
Yes. But please reach out directly to me to discuss what you have in mind.
8.
What types of events happen at the studio besides classes?
Currently we have our Secret Cinema Society and special music/stand-up comedy/theater performances. New events are always brewing, so keep an eye on our calendar.
9.
How big are the classes?
We keep them small to allow for individual attention and a close-knit creative atmosphere. 12 students per class is the maximum.
10.
How do I sign up?
You can register through our website, on our CLASSES tab.
11.
Is there parking?
Yes, we offer street parking and it’s free.
