Screenwriting for Film/TV (Ages 13+)

This hands-on screenwriting course is for those hungry to take their ideas from imagination to the big screen. Whether you’re new to writing or are already sitting with a first draft of a script, this class will help you develop the skills and confidence to create a cinematic story that can actually get made and reach its target audience.

We’ll explore how film stories work  — digging into structure, character arcs, symbolism, visual, and, above all, personal storytelling. Students will be inspired and challenged to find their own unique voices and craft their stories in a manner only they — the individual can. 

*this class is for long form (narrative feature film + episodic television) projects only 

Select projects developed in this class may be considered for production by Subversive Films in partnership with In The Pines Studio.

Led by Matthew A. Brown, award-winning screenwriter, director, and producer with MFA’s in Creative Writing and Screenwriting/Directing. Matthew’s films have screened at top international festivals and secured theatrical releases worldwide.
