Call for Submissions: Raw Central Wisconsin Teen Stories

In The Pines Studio and Subversive Films are seeking authentic stories written by teens, about teens. We’re looking for raw, truthful voices that capture the grit, imagination, and heart of what it means to grow up in Central Wisconsin.

We’re seeking the raw authenticity of films/TV shows like Adolescence, 13 Reasons Why, or Euphoria - but all genres welcome.

One story will be selected and developed into a full-length feature film, produced in 2026.

The chosen writer will:

• Receive on-screen writing credit

• Work directly with award-winning filmmaker Matthew A. Brown (writer, director, producer) to develop their story for the screen

• See their idea brought to life as a professionally produced feature film

Runner-up stories:

• Top three finalists receive a free spot in our upcoming 11 week, teen writing class starting October 4th, 2025. 

Submission Guidelines:

• Format: Any style is welcome - prose, screenplay, journal entry, dialogue, or narrative

• Length: Minimum 1 page (no maximum)

• Quality of writing doesn’t matter - this is about the story itself, not polished prose

• Open to teens across Central Wisconsin
