About this class

A storytelling workshop for teens and adults 13+)

Description:
Rooted in the timeless arc of the Hero’s Journey, this course invites all experience levels - beginner to advanced - to explore and craft their own narratives for stage, screen, or personal expression.

Together, we’ll break down the beats of great storytelling, dive into character creation, plot structure, and visual storytelling for film, and learn how to transform raw ideas into compelling scripts and stories.

Through writing prompts, film clips, group collaboration, and feedback sessions, students will develop their unique voice and build the confidence to tell bold, meaningful tales. Whether you're just starting out or deep in your creative quest, this class is your call to adventure.

Matthew A. Brown will guide this workshop. A professional writer with MFA’s in Creative Writing and Screenwriting & Directing, Matthew’s screenplays have sold and/or been successfully produced with theatrical releases and his first book will soon be ready for publication.
